Child Abuse in America

On any given day 2,400 children (of three million reports) are identified as verified victims of child abuse and neglect in the U.S. according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In Sarasota and DeSoto Counties there are seven new reports of child abuse or neglect every single day. Of those seven reports, three are confirmed each day as abuse; that's more than 1,000 children annually.
